A new Lancet study found that walking 7,000 steps a day may be enough to protect against multiple diseases. Compared to 2,000 steps, it reduces overall death risk by 47%, cardiovascular disease by 25% and dying from cancer by 37%. According to the study, it lowers risks for type 2 diabetes by 14%, dementia by 38%, and depression by 22%.
