Singer Jonita Gandhi recalled that she had to face racial remarks and bullying while growing up in Canada. Born in Delhi and raised in Canada, Jonita said that her peers at school bullied her for facial hair and called her "Godzilla". "Growing up...I couldn't accept my own body [because of those incidents]...I still avoid swimming sometimes," Jonita added.
