In his review, Hindustan Times' Rishabh Suri said watching Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor try to make 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' work is fun, but frustrating. "The only person fully invested is Varun, who has mastered these goofy characters...[Janhvi] stumbles in the emotional scenes," wrote Suri, adding, "Sanya Malhotra struggles with an underwritten role. Rohit Saraf performs well."
