Liquid water once flowed on the parent body of near-Earth asteroid Ryugu, scientists say. By studying rock samples collected by Japan's Hayabusa2 mission, researchers discovered that water existed in liquid form a billion years after the asteroid formed. Previously, the scientists thought that the asteroid water activity only lasted for the earliest moments in the history of solar system.
