Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar recalled Shubman Gill's first net session during Ravi Shastri's coaching tenure. "When we pitched [the ball] up, Gill would play the drive. If the ball was a little outside off-stump, he cut it," he said. Bangar highlighted that Shastri was really impressed by Gill's batting, adding, "We realised then that this boy was special."
