Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann defended Diljit Dosanjh's film with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, saying, "You cannot issue us certificates of patriotism." He told the Assembly, "We have a shared culture. They speak Punjabi, as do we." Criticising the backlash, he added, "Sometimes you call him 'gaddar', at other times you call him 'sardar'...please, don't play these games with us."
