What are eye floaters and what causes them?
short by / on 22 Jul 2025,Tuesday
Floaters are small semi-transparent particles that float within the vitreous, the gel-like substance that fills the interior of the eye. Typically caused by age-related changes in the vitreous and its detachment, eye injuries, cataract surgery, sleep and vision problems. Though, floaters are harmless, but consult an eye doctor in case there is sudden onset or their number increases in vision.
