The Centre on Thursday notified the draft Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025. At the core of the draft rules is the establishment of an authority with powers similar to a civil court. Both e-sports and social games will require compulsory registration from the authority. The act prescribes punishment for violations and establishment of a grievance redressal mechanism.
