A total of 115 Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine have been awarded since 1901, with there being nine occasions when it wasn't conferred. The youngest laureate who won it was Frederick Banting (age 31) in 1923 and the oldest was Peyton Rous (age 87) in 1966. The 2025 prize in this category will be awarded on October 6.
