According to Indian PSU MMTC-PAMP, digital gold entails storage limitations as most platforms offer the service for a limited period, following which customers may have to either sell it or take physical delivery. Some platforms also charge hidden fees like storage costs, transaction fees or digital-to-physical conversion charges. It also carries cybersecurity risks as the platforms may be hacked.
