One of the major reasons for a cooler-than-usual summer in India so far is the passing of streams of western disturbances in the lower latitudes, causing rain and snow. Further, an early moisture influx and changed wind patterns are causing suppressed temperatures. While a cooler summer has brought relief, it has also affected crops that need higher temperatures.
