The Vice President is the second-highest constitutional position in the country. He primarily presides over the Rajya Sabha and acts as the caretaker President in their absence. The VP receives ₹4 lakh/month salary and gets free accommodation, medical care, train and air travel, personal security, and staff, News18 reported. Post-retirement, the VP reportedly gets a pension of ₹1.5 lakh/month.
