Monsoon covered entire India on Sunday, 9 days before normal date, said IMD. The onset took place under favourable conditions including Madden-Julian Oscillation, an ocean-atmospheric phenomena influencing Indian monsoons and Mascarene High, a high-pressure area found around Mascarene Islands (in south Indian Ocean) during the monsoon period. Increase in convective activity also brings rainfall.
