Mumbai is witnessing a sharp spike in malaria cases, with over 6,200 infections reported in 2025. Malaria is caused by Plasmodium parasites transmitted through bites of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. Symptoms include fever, chills, fatigue, and nausea. Without timely treatment, it can lead to severe complications like anaemia, jaundice, and organ failure, making awareness and prevention crucial.
