An 11-year-old Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday, killing 274 people. Aviation regulator DGCA hasn't set any guidelines specifying the lifespan of planes. Aircraft are considered airworthy provided maintenance is as per approved schedule laid down by manufacturer and aircraft is under production/maintenance support of manufacturer.
