Palestine has diplomatic missions, sporting teams, but has no internationally agreed borders, capital or army. Recognising the Palestinian state is mostly symbolic, which would hardly change things on the ground. The statehood of Palestine has the support of four of five UN Security Council members as US doesn't support it. India also supports a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
