Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs explained during his 1998 speech, when he introduced iMac, that the 'i' in iPhone and iMac stands for 'internet'. According to Ken Segall, who came up with the name 'iMac', the 'i' also meant 'individual', 'imaginative' and "all the other things it came to stand for". He'd claimed that Jobs initially didn't like the name 'iMac'.
