A study, published in journal Computers in Human Behavior, revealed that restricting a person's smartphone usage for 72 hours noticeably shifts their brain's activity. These changes were particularly seen in the reward and craving regions, similar to what is seen in alcohol or substance addiction withdrawal, it found. The researchers asked the participants to only use phone for essential tasks.
