'Inemuri', or 'sleeping while present', is a Japanese practice that refers to act of napping in public or during work hours. Often seen in offices, on trains, or in other public spaces, the Inemuri nap is considered a cultural norm rather than a sign of laziness. Inemuri usually involves light, non-REM sleep stages, said Dr Jagadish Hiremath, public health intellectual.
