'Mankeeping' is a term coined by Stanford developmental and social psychotherapist Angelica Ferrara, to describe women's "unreciprocated work" of managing emotional and social needs of men in their lives. According to her, 'mankeeping' is a form of labour resulting from men's declining social networks. The prospect of 'mankeeping' is being blamed for making many women give up dating.
