Micro-retirement, or mini-retirement, is a new trend among millennials and Gen Zs wherein an employee takes a break from their job or workplace for a few months or even years. Jes Osrow, the Co-Founder of HR consultancy firm The Rise Journey told Business Insider that this offers people the chance to follow "personal passions", and helps combat burnout.
