The UNSC passed Resolution 1701 to end a month-long war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006. As per the resolution, Israeli forces were to fully withdraw from Lebanon and instead be replaced by Lebanese army and UN peacekeeping forces. It also sought disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah. Tensions have currently erupted between Israel and Hezbollah amid ongoing Gaza war.
