Air conditioner (AC) gas leak scam happens when an AC service person pretends to fill the gas despite no leak and charges money. To avoid this, one must know the gas pressure AC requires to function properly. Start AC before technician arrives, check gas pressure both while it's running and off, compare readings and proceed only if refill is needed.
