The Kutir Jyoti Scheme is an initiative by the Bihar government aimed at providing affordable electricity to households, particularly poor families. As part of this, all domestic consumers in Bihar will receive up to 125 units of electricity free of cost every month, starting August 1, 2025. This will benefit approximately 1.67 crore families across the state.
