Chagas disease, a potentially deadly condition transmitted by 'kissing bug' insect, has been declared endemic by US CDC after it spread to 32 states. It occurs when bug faeces carrying the parasite enter body through a wound or when rubbed accidentally into eyes or mouth. During the chronic phase, it can cause an enlarged heart or colon or heart failure.
