FASTag is an RFID-based system for automatic toll collection, made mandatory for four-wheelers from February 2021. Previously, users paid tolls per gate crossed. The new Annual Pass introduces a flat-fee alternative, making tolling more predictable and efficient for frequent users of India’s expanding highway network.
