At around 9:30am on Monday, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) received a distress alert from Wan Hai 503, regarding an onboard explosion and fire. ICG successfully rescued 18 of the ship's 22 crew. One rescued crew member sustained serious injuries while the remaining crew (two Taiwanese, one Indonesian and one Myanmarese) have been missing since explosion.
