Lokpal of India is a first-of-its-kind anti-corruption authority established under Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013. It can investigate corruption allegations against PMs (with some exceptions), Union Ministers, MPs and government officers under Groups A, B, C and D. The current seven-member Lokpal has faced criticism from some quarters for seeking to buy BMW cars worth ₹70 lakh each.
