Located in river Brahmaputra, Majuli is one of the world’s largest river islands often dubbed the cultural capital of Assam, as it is home to many ethnic groups living there for centuries. It is also a natural habitat for rich flora and fauna, harbouring rare and endangered species, especially migratory birds, that make Majuli their home during the cold winters.
