A 23-year-old UP woman was recently diagnosed with postpartum psychosis, a rare and serious mental health illness that can affect mothers after giving birth. It is characterised by extreme confusion, loss of touch with reality, paranoia, delusions, disorganised thought process and hallucinations. It is considered a psychiatric emergency that warrants immediate medical and psychiatric attention.
