The defamation case in which Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has been handed 15-day imprisonment was filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya's wife Medha. Medha had said Saamana newspaper, of which Raut is Executive Editor, falsely alleged the couple's involvement in ₹100-crore scam. She was accused of constructing public toilets by damaging mangroves without approvals from environmental authorities.
