The National Herald case began in 2012 when Subramanian Swamy accused Congress leaders of cheating and breach of trust in Young Indian Ltd's takeover of Associated Journals Ltd, which published the Nehru-founded National Herald. Both Rahul and Sonia Gandhi have been summoned in the case. The ED is probing AJL-YIL financial transactions, shareholding patterns, and roles of Sonia and Rahul.
