The Ring of Fire is a geological zone along the edges of Pacific Ocean. It's prone to earthquakes and tsunamis because it lies at the boundaries of multiple tectonic plates, including Pacific Plate and several surrounding smaller plates. This zone is reportedly home to nearly 75% of world's active volcanoes and is the site of about 90% of global earthquakes.
