World Zoonoses Day is observed on July 6 to raise awareness about diseases that spread from animals to humans, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, posted on X. These zoonotic diseases usually spread from vertebrates (animals with backbones), including bats, dogs, and livestock animals. Examples include COVID-19, Zika virus, Ebola virus, and rabies, among many others.
