Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded on a section of Delhi-Kolkata highway in Bihar for four days. The jam began after torrential rains resulted in potholes and severe waterlogging. The rain also halted road-widening work that was underway, reducing the available road space and leading to traffic. Some vehicles are reportedly able to cover only five kilometres in 24 hours.
