The protests in Nepal are being called 'Gen Z' protests, as many of its participants are under 28 years of age. The immediate trigger for protests was a now-lifted social media ban, but people also protested over corruption allegations against the political leadership. Protestors used the term 'Nepo Kids', questioning how lifestyle of young members of prominent families was funded.
