Justice Varma, challenging his impeachment recommended by Supreme Court-appointed in-house panel, termed the in-house procedure extra-constitutional. He stated in-house committee's report is invalid and violates principles of natural justice. Justice Varma added the then CJI Sanjiv Khanna didn't give him sufficient time to read final report and he wasn't given a personal hearing in the matter.
