The family of Nimisha Priya, a Kerala nurse who's on death row in Yemen for murder charges, offered ₹8.6 crore as blood money to the victim's family in exchange for her life. Blood money is monetary compensation offered to family of a murdered person in exchange for a pardon. The victim's legal heirs have the right to demand/accept this compensation.
