The due date is the final deadline to submit the Income Tax Returns, while the last date is the extended deadline past which the return is late and the person might be penalised, CNBCTV18 reported. CBDT has extended the due date for filing the ITRs to September 15, 2025. Any ITR filed after September 15 will qualify as late filing.
