The European Union (EU) has banned gel nail polishes containing TPO (trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide) as studies revealed it caused fertility issues. Always read the ingredient label to make sure the nail polish at the salon doesn't contain TPO. It is best to use TPO-free or 3-free and 5-free gel polishes to lower the risk, recommends dermatologist Dr Chandani Gupta.
