Michel Barnier's government became France's first to be forced out by a no-confidence vote in more than 60 years on Wednesday. Barnier will now submit his resignation to President Emmanuel Macron, and Barnier and his ministers remain in post until a new PM is installed. The caretaker government is allowed to deal with current affairs but cannot pass new laws.
