Consumers can claim full input tax credit (ITC) on purchases made before the new rate change, which starts on Monday, as long as GST was charged correctly at the time of purchase. The later change in rates will not reduce the credit already available to an individual. Whatever tax an individual paid earlier remains valid credit in their GST ledger.
