WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a feature that will enable users to connect through usernames instead of phone numbers, said reports. The feature was recently spotted in beta testing versions of the app by WABetaInfo, a source for WhatsApp updates. The username system will let users pick a unique identifier, replacing need to share phone number when making new connections.
