Just a few months after winning Battle of Plassey, Lord Clive was invited to Shobha Bazar Rajbari's Durga Puja in Kolkata by his friend Maharaja Nabakrishna Deb. Durga Puja at Shobhabazar Rajbari began a few months after the Battle in 1757, making it over 268 years old in 2025. Nabakrishna Deb did not leave any stone unturned for Clive’s hospitality.
