Where is Point Nemo, the loneliest place on Earth?

Point Nemo, the loneliest place on Earth, lies deep in the South Pacific Ocean. It is about 2,688 kilometres from the nearest land. Known as the oceanic pole of inaccessibility, it's so remote that astronauts aboard the International Space Station are often closer than any humans on land. Space agencies also use this spot as a graveyard for retired spacecraft.
