As per United Nations Environment Programme's Food Waste Report 2024, the top 10 countries that waste the most food are China (108.6 million tonnes/year), followed by India (78.1 million tonnes), Pakistan (30.7 million tonnes), Nigeria (24.7 million tonnes) and US (24.7 million tonnes). Other countries in the top 10 are Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Mexico.
