After US President Donald Trump's 25% penalty tariffs came into effect, tariff on gems and jewellery exports, worth $10 billion, rose from 2% to over 52%. Tariff on textiles and apparel exports (worth $5.4 billion) rose to 63.9% from 13.9%. Carpet exports ($1.2 billion) tariff climbed to 52.9% from 2.9%. Shrimps, handicrafts, agriculture exports are also among the hardest hit.
