Divya Deshmukh became the 13th chess Grandmaster from Maharashtra after becoming the first Indian to win Women's Chess World Cup on Monday. Out of India's 88 chess Grandmasters, 32 are from Tamil Nadu, 13 from Maharashtra and 11 from West Bengal. Andhra Pradesh and Delhi (Union Territory) have produced seven Grandmasters each, while Karnataka has produced five.
