After death of multiple children in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan was linked to 'Coldrif' cough syrup that was manufactured in a Tamil Nadu-based pharmaceutical firm, several states have banned the syrup. Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Telangana have banned the cough syrup so far.
