Jawaharlal Nehru was India's longest-serving PM (16 years, 286 days), followed by PM Narendra Modi, who recently overtook Pandit Nehru's daughter Indira Gandhi to become the second-longest PM in consecutive terms. Dr Manmohan Singh's term was the fourth-longest. He is followed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Rajiv Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao, Morarji Desai, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Vishwanath Pratap Singh.
